Según informó la agencia Télam, el fuego comenzó en la zona del altar, aparentemente por un desperfecto eléctrico en el órgano.
Según informaron, la antigua catedral tiene peligro de derrumbe tras el incendio ya que el fuego se propagó. El intendente local, Ismael Passaglia se hizo presente en el lugar y hay preocupación.
